Upasika Day: Practicing in a Global Context: Death and Dying

Location: Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery

Description: In our time and place, death and dying, universal and inevitable, are met from a multitude of perspectives and with a variety of practices. What does the Dhamma have to offer, and how can we, as students of the Dhamma, bring it to bear for the benefit of all as we meet death and dying with our friends, families and strangers, of diverse values, cultures and beliefs? Ajahn Pasanno and senior monastics of Abhayagiri have generously offered to lead us in reflecting on this topic. Readings will be short and will follow in early April, after the end of the Winter Retreat. 10:30 am Precepts, 11:00 am Meal offering, 1:00 - 4:30 pm Teachings and Discussion, 4:30 pm Informal Tea
