"Born on a 3" Birthday Offering Ceremony

Location: Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery

Description: 11:00 am -- Meal Offering 1:00 pm -- Dedication Ceremony (at the ordination platform) Lay supporters born on a year ending in 3 (i.e., 1953, 1963, 1973, etc.) will celebrate their big birthdays at Abhayagiri. Over the past few months, they have raised funds together to support improvements to the ordination platform area. Today they will offer the meal and then join in a dedication ceremony to formally offer their collective gift to the monastery. All are welcome to attend. Welcome remarks (Luang Por) 2. Describe project & introduce sponsors (Dennis) 3. Refuges/precepts (Dennis will lead) 4. Offering tray (I'm recruiting Casey to do this) 5. Offering chant (Dennis will lead) 6. Paritta/blessing chants (monks) 7. Circumambulation (just once) & water sprinking (all around area), while chanting "Itipi So" (LP will lead) 8. Return to seats/closing chant "Sharing Blessings" (LP will begin) I will coordinate the setup with Ajahn Jotipalo as work monk. What about the water sprinkling "paraphenalia"?
